From the dark into the light,\u00a0from new moon to full moon,
\nvia first quarter and last quarter…<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h2>\n

\"00<\/a>The cycle in the night sky, through the seasons a relative constant, observed all over the world, a far glistening light that surprises and connects people across the earth. After years of absence on the musical front John van Loon re-enters the fold as Guflux with the double album Blue Moon, which unites past, current times, what\u2019s ahead and beyond in one creative flow.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Guflux<\/h2>\n

Guflux<\/strong> is moniker under which John van Loon<\/em> launches his New Moon<\/em><\/strong> and\u00a0Dark Moon<\/em><\/strong>: a new starting point on the perpetual repetition of cycles in his original creative musical nature. The demise of Hinterland<\/em> marked the ascent of Lemonsoul<\/em>, the project provided fertile soil for Dark Territory<\/em>\u00a0and Solar<\/em>. From there a new light started to shine: Guflux<\/em>.<\/p>\n

With Blue Moon<\/em><\/strong> Van Loon presents the fall and resurrection in his own life through sound and music. He had succumbed to hyperacusis, an affliction that causes tremendous pains upon hearing even the faintest of sounds. Van Loon\u2019s search for a cure to his problem marked the beginning of a quest that not only relieved him of his pain, but also enabled him to follow his musical passions. New Moon<\/em> celebrates Van Loon\u2019s return to the musical fore. With the record\u2019s release, he also organised the symposium Herrie uit je Hoofd<\/em> (Your Head freed from Noise) on March 26th, aimed at raising awareness for hearing problems such as tinnitus and hyperacusis and above all treatment thereof.<\/p>\n

Dark Moon<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/a>There are no borders in John van Loon\u2019s music. Therefore it is next to impossible to pin point\u00a0New Moon<\/em>\u00a0with a single label. The\u00a0Dark Moon<\/em><\/strong>section is both a retrospective and current representation. The record features contemporary remixes of tracks taken from\u00a0Dark Territory<\/em>\u2019s\u00a0Libera Me<\/em>\u00a0album remixed by an international selection of artists, including\u00a0Sara Noxx<\/em>,\u00a0Tonikom<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Ah Cama-Sotz<\/em>. Serene atmospheres are paired with pounding dark electro beats \u2013 in melancholic soundtrack-like soundscapes the borders between past and present dissolve. As if\u00a0Dead Can Dance<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0O Quam Tristes<\/em>\u00a0pay a visit to\u00a0Front Line Assembly<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Die Form<\/em>, Dark Moon\u2019s electronic dark wave flows from brooding etheric to cold industrial.<\/p>\n

New Moon<\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/a>An ending is also a new beginning. On the New Moon<\/em><\/strong> side of this coin, the Dark Territory<\/em> dance floor hit Schmerztanz<\/em> is also at the forefront of the cohort of thirteen thrillingly refined new compositions that put the moon and its light into full focus. Both elements have been a sublime inspiration on ritual and \u2018holy\u2019 music throughout history. Based on ethnic folk melodies and rhythms, New Moon\u2019s trance grows and blossoms from a melodic gothic underground darkness to a celestial firework display in the harmony of spheres. These extremes of the Guflux-spectrum are \u00a0joined in a modern foundation of the earthly themes of love, departure, travel, and ever increasing technological possibilities.<\/p>\n
